Adopt Hubertus - EKH

European Shorthair · Male · Young · 1 year

Born: approx. 09/2025, at the animal shelter since: 31.10.2025, male, neutered. Hubertus came to us as a found animal along with his mother, father, and siblings. After treatment for endo- and ectoparasites and a quarantine period, he was allowed to move to the adoption area. His father Viktor and brother Hermann have already found new homes. Hubertus is a young red tomcat. He is very fearful of people and new situations. Therefore, he needs a lot of contact with other cats to feel safe. He especially enjoys spending time with Wuschel, Jacky, or Seppl. He also likes his siblings, but most of the time, he seeks the company of his cat friends. We wish for Hubertus to find a home with secure outdoor access. It is important that there are already new cat friends or a buddy from the our shelter available. This way, he can build trust and feel comfortable. Share this page Copy link To protect the animals up for adoption and to cover costs, we charge an adoption fee per animal.

About Hubertus - EKH

What life with Hubertus - EKH looks like

Hubertus - EKH is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn in Dingolfing.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hubertus - EKH, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hubertus - EKH?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hubertus - EKH on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hubertus - EKH if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hubertus - EKH already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hubertus - EKH isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hubertus - EKH and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
