adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Huggy is a lively, energetic puppy who seeks the company of humans and relishes any attention. She is playful, open, and approaches people with friendliness. Born under difficult circumstances, her mother, a medium-sized female dog, was driven away by humans and sought shelter in the garden of an older woman, where she eventually gave birth to her puppies. Without security, without stable care. Today, Huggy is in safety and shows how much joy of life is within her. She loves to play, moves a lot, and delights in every form of affection. At the same time, she constantly seeks the proximity of humans and orientates herself to them. She gets along well with other dogs and also knows cats. Since her mother is medium-sized, Huggy is likely to develop more towards the medium size rather than remaining a small dog. Huggy is still at the very beginning of her life. Everything that belongs to a daily routine at home must be learned by her – from house training through to fixed routines until new environmental stimuli. Additionally, she is entering puberty in the next few months. During this phase, much is questioned again, boundaries are tested, and behavior can change. This is completely normal – but it requires people who remain calm, consistently lead, and reliably accompany her. A positively working dog training class can be very helpful and aids in creating a good foundation from the start. Huggy is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and can bring her EU pet passport after a positive home check. Who would like to give this young female dog a permanent place in life and accompany her through all phases? Many thanks to her namesake, Caro B. You have given Huggy her name.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Huggy

What life with Huggy looks like

Huggy is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Huggy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Huggy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Huggy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Huggy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Huggy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Huggy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Huggy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
