Este un companion afectuos și jucăuș, îi place să se joace cu mingile de tenis și să exploreze mediul înconjurător. Este mereu plin de viață, fie că aleargă după o minge, fie că se distrează cu apă, stropind cu bucurie. După momentele pline de aventură, știe să se relaxeze, fiind un cățel echilibrat și adaptabil. Are o atitudine deschisă față de alți câini, se înțelege bine atât cu femele, cât și cu masculi, mai ales dacă este introdus corect în noi medii. Hugo este obișnuit cu lesa și hamul iar energia sa moderată și comportamentul echilibrat îl fac un candidat excelent pentru o familie care iubește activitățile în aer liber, dar care înțelege și nevoia lui de momente de liniște și explorare. Hugo este cățelul care îți va aduce zâmbetul pe buze în fiecare zi, cu personalitatea lui jucăușă și afectuoasă.
