Hunny

Female · Young · 3 years

At the very entrance to the village of Kolari near Smederevo, we found Hani, confused and frightened, standing in the middle of the busy road while cars passed at speeds over 100 km/h. We assume she had been thrown out just before we found her. In fear and shock, she tried to run away from the noise and speed of the cars, but kept returning to the middle of the road. With a spontaneous and risky action, we managed to move her off the road and take her to safety. In the car, she was calmer, which showed us that driving was not unfamiliar to her. After eating, the litter lay on the seat and behaved as if aware of our good intentions, calm and full of trust. Her beauty amazed us at first sight. At first, we thought she was quiet and reserved, but she quickly surprised us with her strong and dominant character, which she showed in the boarding house. Hani is truly special, a dog who is incredibly beautiful, yet with a strong will and a big heart.

SR·Show original

About Hunny

What life with Hunny looks like

Hunny is a young adult dog waiting at Šape Smedereva in Smederevo.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇸Adopting from Serbia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hunny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hunny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Šape Smedereva handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hunny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hunny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Šape Smedereva will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hunny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hunny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Šape Smedereva early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hunny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
