Husky Odin

Mixed Breed · Male · Baby

Husky Odin, male, born circa 2019, available due to illness… Our seven-year-old male Husky Odin has unfortunately had to come live with us because of his owner’s health issues. In the meantime, we’ve gotten to know him well and would love to introduce you to this wonderful fellow. Odin is a real good-mood dog. He loves being around, experiencing new things, and discovering the world. As typical for a Husky, he’s bursting with energy—if he could, he’d probably be on the go all day long. Quiet breaks aren’t necessarily among his favorite activities, which is why he needs people who can show him that relaxing is perfectly fine too. Unfortunately, we don’t yet know whether Odin can already be left alone. That would have to be carefully tested in his new home and, if necessary, gradually introduced. Odin has already undergone a cat test and reacted completely calmly and neutrally. Nevertheless, living together with cats should be approached slowly and thoughtfully so that everyone involved feels comfortable. Whether Odin likes other dogs depends entirely on his personal chemistry. So far, he’s lived relatively smoothly with a small male Terrier who’s also at our animal shelter. Of course, we can’t promise that he’ll get along with every dog out there. However, we could easily imagine that he’d get along well with a confident female dog. We’re looking for active people for Odin who enjoy going on adventures together with him but can also provide him with the necessary calm and structure. If you’re looking for a cheerful, energetic companion who appreciates the typical Husky traits, you absolutely must meet Odin. Odin thanks Axel Osterland for taking on his sponsorship! About Husky Odin

What life with Husky Odin looks like

Husky Odin is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed animal waiting at Tierheim Lauterbach in Germany.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Husky Odin far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Husky Odin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Husky Odin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Lauterbach handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Husky Odin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Husky Odin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Lauterbach will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Husky Odin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Husky Odin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Lauterbach early rather than rehoming privately; they know Husky Odin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
