THE YOUNG GREEN-EYED HUGO IS WAITING FOR A HOME OF HIS OWN. Hugo arrived at Pesaleidja’s cat room on March 15, 2026, from Liiapeksi village in Kuusalu, together with his probably same-age brother Sky. His year of birth has been estimated as 2024, so this handsome boy is still very young indeed. Hugo’s coat is beautifully gray-and-white mottled. And his green eyes change color depending on the light—simply magical! Green eyes are among the rarest eye colors that nature can produce. Only 2% of the population possesses these rare beauties. Yet green eyes aren’t actually green like leaves or emeralds!!!! There’s no green pigment in the iris! What we see is a trick created by a very low level of physical and biological melanin... The yellowish-brown pigment (pheomelanin) combined with light passing through the iris at just the right angle—it’s like a celestial phenomenon nestled within human eyes. That’s precisely why the eyes appear green. In one light, they might look grayish; under another light, almost golden; in a third light, a deep forest green... And that’s not all! This color isn’t controlled by just one tiny gene, but by several genes working together—a sort of little “genetic orchestra.” So green eyes aren’t merely rare—they’re also a beautifully calibrated illusion... At the moment, Hugo (like his brother) doesn’t yet have much idea about humans, but here at Pesaleidja, we believe that with time and gradual familiarization, he’ll grow into a big, loving companion. NOORUKE ROHESILMNE HUUGO OOTAB KODUPAKKUMISI Huugo jõudis Pesaleidja kassituppa 15.03.2026 Liiapeksi külast, Kuusalust, koos ilmselt oma samavanuse vennakese Sky´ga. Tema sünniaastaks on pakutud aastat 2024 ja seega on see ilus poiss alles täitsa nooruke. Huugo kasukas on kena halli-valgekirju. Ja tema rohekad silmad on erineva valgusega erinevat värvi - ja see on lihtsalt imeline! Rohelist värvi silmad on ühed haruldaseimad, mida loodus on suutnud saavutada. Vaid 2% elanikkonnast omab neid haruldusi. Kuid rohelised silmad pole tegelikult rohelised, nagu puulehed või smaragdid!!!! Silmaiirises pole rohelist pigmenti! Mida me näeme, on füüsikaline ja bioloogiline väga madala tasemega melaniinihulgaga trikk..... Kollakas-pruun pigment (pheomelaniin) ning valgus, mis teatud õige nurga alt silmaiirist läbib - see on nagu taevafenomen, mis asetseb inimese silmades. Just seepärast muutubki silma roheline värv. Ühe valguse käes võib see olla hallikas, teise valguse käes peaaegu kuldne, kolmandas valguses sügav metsaroheline.... Ja see pole veel kõik! Seda värvi ei kontrolli üks väike geen, vaid mitu üheskoos "mängivat" geeni, mis moodustavad nagu väikese "geneetilise orkestri" Seega - rohelised silmad pole ainuüksi haruldus, vaid kaunilt kalibreeritud illusioon.................. Hetkel Huugo (nagu tema vennakegi) veel inimese paikäest midagi ei arva, kuid me siin usume, et poiss saaks seda vähehaaval tundma õppides suureks paisõbraks.
