Adopt Ida
Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months
There is no respite for the LIDA Shelter, our partner animal shelter in Olbia. Not only does the daily stress of caring for many dogs and cats to be housed never cease, but new foundlings or abandoned animals also arrive daily. There are no breaks. During our team project tour in mid-April 2026, we were once again right in the middle of this chaos. On one hand, we visited dogs that have been waiting for a long time to be adopted. On the other hand, we were introduced to new arrivals that would have very few chances of finding a loving home without our help. Among the new arrivals were these two sisters. They came from the Industrial Zone in Olbia. We had already taken in dogs from this area before, and this region is essentially a bottomless pit. Not only because dogs are constantly abandoned there, but also because it is impossible to catch and sterilize all the females. The females are so shy and clever that they evade any capture attempts. Therefore, all we can do is observe attentively where new litters are left, so we can at least catch them to prevent them from increasing the population. It is only very rarely that a mother with her puppies can be captured. And unfortunately, the mothers are usually so scared or wild that they have little chance of finding a normal home. Ida and Indiana were found without siblings and their mother and were brought to the shelter for their safety. This ensures that these two girls will not contribute to any further litters in the Industrial Zone. During the photo session, Ida and Indiana were not entirely relaxed, which we did not find surprising given their negative experiences with people in the industrial area. They are now experiencing so much newness, which must be processed. But Ida and Indiana showed themselves to be very affectionate. What these two beautiful female dogs urgently need for their development are families that can give them a close family connection and show them how wonderful life can be. Because the staff at the shelter simply lack the time to give all the dogs and cats the attention and affection they would ideally receive, we want to bring Ida and Indiana to Germany as quickly as possible so they can find their dream home here forever. If you are currently looking for a new four-legged family member and are aware that adoption brings not only joy but also a lot of work and great responsibility, we look forward to your message. We provide nationwide support.
