IDA

Mixed Breed · Female

IDA Date of birth: Unknown Sex: Female Description: Ida is a little old lady of a cat who arrived at her foster family quite worn down by life. She is very calm, clean, polite, affectionate and greedy. She doesn't like: - the great outdoors (she has had more than her fill and still worries that the house door will close for good behind her if she goes out) - being lifted or carried, her old bones have passed that age (and when she's cross she just gives a little, utterly adorable hiss, but she isn't vindictive in the slightest) - being told that no, cheese isn't for cats; she gives you a look that really makes you feel like a monster - humans who are too excited; she eyes them with a disapproving air... But she loves: company and slow, tender blinks of affection, head scratches, lullabies, being brushed, getting a little bit of mozzarella, wiggling her little nose at the window to sniff the garden, and having her own corner of the sofa. She meows softly like a baby duckling, and yawns comically wide, bigger than her head, showing her missing tooth. In short, this one is a ball of fur who deserves all the love in the world and gives it back a hundredfold!

About IDA

What life with IDA looks like

IDA is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Chats là là de Valréas in France.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting IDA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about IDA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Chats là là de Valréas handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw IDA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt IDA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Chats là là de Valréas will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is IDA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if IDA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Chats là là de Valréas early rather than rehoming privately; they know IDA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
