Ira

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Ira - Myra's Children 🐾 – Ready for Their Own Home When we rescued Myra from the streets, we had no idea she would soon become a mother. Shortly after, she gave birth to her puppies and lovingly cared for her little family. Today, her children are old enough to go their own way and are now looking for their forever home. Each of them brings his or her own character – but they all have one thing in common: They want people who will show them the world and accompany them throughout life. Ira is simply irresistible. With her pretty face, warm brown eyes, and cute white chest, she looks curiously at the world and wins hearts by storm. The young dog likes to come over to play and enjoys attention. She becomes especially brave when her siblings are around. Then she's in the thick of things and shows her cheerful, playful side. Ira initially prefers to observe new situations from a safe distance. She is not a daredevil, but rather a small observer who first looks and then decides. Once she has gained trust, however, she likes to participate. Like all puppies, Ira still needs to learn everything that belongs to a relaxed family dog. Housebreaking, leash training, staying alone, and the many impressions of everyday life are new territory for her. With loving guidance, patience, and understanding, she will develop into a wonderful companion. We wish for people who give her time to arrive at her own pace and who enjoy accompanying a young dog on his way through life. Whoever gives her this chance wins a loyal friend for life.

(Hier klicken) .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-202 > .fusion-body

About Ira

What life with Ira looks like

Ira is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Nordic Strays e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nordic Strays e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nordic Strays e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nordic Strays e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
