adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Irina has found her home! Her story: 45525 Hattingen. Irina is on the lookout for her perfect people! Our snow-white beauty captures hearts with her appearance. But Irina can score not only with her looks, her character is also dreamy. She is open, friendly, and playful. Irina gets along great with other dogs and also counts cats among her friends. She likes to play with her dog buddies, lie relaxed on the grass, or explore her surroundings. All people – whether young or old, man or woman – are always greeted with wagging tails, and Irina immediately seeks cuddles. Our pretty mouse is currently 4.5 months old and we assume she will likely grow to be medium-sized. She is looking for a family that sticks with her through thick and thin, with which she can still experience many exciting adventures and that can still teach her a thing or two. We are sure that Irina will fill the lives of her new owners with love and joy very quickly. Your new family should also be aware that Irina does not yet know the life in a loving family. She still needs to learn the whole puppy ABC and puberty is still ahead of her. Here, she needs people who approach with much love and patience, and may also need to attend positive dog training classes and forgive her one or two mishaps. Leash walking, house training, and being left alone are still foreign words to her. During puberty, she will surely test boundaries and perhaps even forget some things she has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Irina will definitely become a great lifelong partner. Irina is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings an EU pet passport with her and can be adopted after a positive assessment. Who will give Irina a loving forever home? Many thanks to Jenny! You named Irina.

Vielen Dank an Jenny! Du hast Irina Ihren Namen geschenkt.

About Irina

What life with Irina looks like

Irina is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Irina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Irina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Irina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Irina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Irina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Irina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Irina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
