Iris was originally saved from the streets of Romania and taken to a public shelter. In Iris's litter, there were 5 babies - including herself. Heartbreakingly, there had been heavy rains in Romania when they were still on the streets and one of the siblings had already drown by the time they were found. We only had space at our rescue to take one of the puppies but we do hope to take the remaining siblings as soon as we have space. Iris is a highly active and HIGHLY INTELLIGENT puppy. We believe she has some kind of Shepherd / Mali mix in her as she picks things up so quickly. This will mean that she is going to require a lot of enrichment and MENTAL STIMULATION otherwise she is going to get bored very easily. As she gets older, she is going to need a lot of exercise too, to keep up with her highly energetic personality and so we are looking for an ACTIVE FAMILY for this little girl. we imagine she's going to be a dog that will walk for miles so we need an adopter that is going to be able to keep up with her both physically and mentally. Iris mixes with lots of dogs at the rescue with no issues at all. She will require regular socialisation with other dogs as she grows up to prevent any reactivity issues. Iris is young enough that she'll be able to adapt to living with a cat. Iris is a highly energetic dog and as she grows up, her physical needs are going to need to be met with plenty of long walks and time off her lead to burn off any excess energy Iris has never been completely alone before and so this will need to be slowly built up over time. We've just recently started lead training with Iris. She's currently very nervous of the outside world and so we are not pushing her to go any further than she is comfortable to do as this would only cause anxiety resulting in reactivity Iris doesn't yet have any kind of basic training and has never lived in a home so will require toilet training with positive reinforcement methods only
