Iris Rose

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 5 months

Mădălina Militaru born: approximately May 2026 Sex: female Location: Romania spayed: no FIV test: negative FeLV test: negative Handicaps: Rose: slight gait instability after spinal surgery compatible with: children: unknown cats: yes dogs: unknown Requirements: shared only indoor housing, NO outdoor access Balcony or terrace desirable (if available, securing is required) Iris and Rose are two sisters who come from a farm in Bulgaria where their unspayed mother cat had given birth to her kittens. When Mădălina learned about both girls and took them into her care, it quickly became clear that Rose needed urgent help. The little mouse had a wound on her back and could hardly move her hind legs. Instead of frolicking like other kittens, she had to drag her hind paws behind her. For Madalina, it was clear that she would do everything to help Rose. The X-rays showed that two vertebrae in the back area were pressing on the nerves and causing her severe pain. Madalina took the little one to an experienced surgeon in Bucharest. He could not promise that Rose would ever walk again. But a week after the operation, the small miracle happened: Rose stood on her legs again! In the meantime, the brave mouse is doing really well. She walks, runs and even climbs onto the bed and jumps down again. Although she still wobbles a bit when walking, considering how bad it was for her once, her development is just great. Iris and Rose are two very sweet cat girls who love to be stroked and pampered. They enjoy the closeness to their humans and are happy about shared cuddle hours. But of course, there is also play! The two sisters particularly enjoy playing with each other, chasing each other playfully through the area and having fun together. It's just nice to see how much joy the two have with each other. Now we only wish for Iris and Rose one thing: a nice place with people who will close the two sisters in their hearts together. There they can play, cuddle and even make a fool of themselves. Above all, Iris and Rose should continue to go through life together, because the two only exist in pairs.

About Iris Rose

What life with Iris Rose looks like

Iris Rose is a large kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Iris Rose, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Iris Rose?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Iris Rose on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Iris Rose if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Iris Rose already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Iris Rose isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Iris Rose and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
