She immediately took him to the vet because Milo could not use his hind legs properly and dragged his rear body behind him. Character & Personality Despite everything, Milo is an absolute sweetheart. He is incredibly friendly, gentle, and cuddly. He is open with people, seeks closeness, and enjoys every bit of affection. He is attentive, vigilant, and at the same time calm and balanced. Milo is strongly oriented towards his trusted people and simply wants to belong. With his loving nature, he brings a special warmth that immediately touches. Milo is not a loud or demanding dog – rather a sensitive, refined companion who seeks security and gives trust when given time. Health & Specialties (09.02.2026) During the examinations, it was shown that Milos' hind legs are generally movable and he perceives pain in the hind paw – an important positive sign. X-rays revealed fractures in the pelvic area, which, however, affect bones that do not carry the main body weight. These injuries alone do not fully explain his current limitations. The veterinarians suspect additional involvement of the spinal cord or vertebrae due to the trauma, but further diagnostic testing (CT/MRT) is unfortunately not possible on-site. Currently, Milo is being treated conservatively and is receiving medical care as well as plenty of rest. Whether and to what extent his mobility will improve further cannot be predicted at this time. What is currently positive to note: Sensitivity in the hind paw is present, the hind legs are movable, there is no complete paralysis, and the fecal and urinary output functions normally. Milo shows a lively and attentive demeanor. All these factors give cautious hope for further progress – only time will show what is possible. Foster Home For Milo, we are looking for a quiet, loving home – preferably an experienced foster home. Important are people with empathy, patience, and a sense of responsibility who ideally have an open-plan home and a quiet, hectic-free daily routine. They should bring time and understanding, as well as the willingness to accompany Milo at his own pace. Ideally, experience with disabled dogs should already be present. Milo needs security, closeness, and people who can help him regain trust in his body and the world. He brings everything that makes a faithful companion, but he still needs the person who gives him this chance. data-toggle="collapse" id="-weiterlesen-8" data-id="weiterlesen-8" data-parent="-rl_sliders-8" aria-expanded="false"> Weiterlesen Weiterlesen Vorgeschichte Milo wurde von einem jungen Mädchen gefunden, nachdem er bewegungsunfähig am Straßenrand lag - vermutlich das Opfer eines Verkehrsunfalls. About Milo

What life with Milo looks like

Milo is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tiere in Not Griechenland e.V. in Krefeld.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Milo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Milo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiere in Not Griechenland e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Milo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Milo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiere in Not Griechenland e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Milo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Milo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiere in Not Griechenland e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Milo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
