Adopt Isabella

Female · Young · 2 years

In December 2025, Paola also took in this Breton-Mix female dog, which had been "phased out" by her owner. During our project tour at the beginning of January 2026, we got to know the female dog, who had been named Isabella, personally. Isabella had settled in well at the rescue. She showed herself to be a very open, friendly, and attentive female dog who delights in every pat she can get. She is compatible with other dogs and enjoys running through the large play area with them. Additionally, she is very child-friendly: She quickly warmed up to the children of the new helper at the rescue, who are almost always on site, and loves playing with them. Isabella is a really great female dog, and we wish from the bottom of our hearts that she can travel to Germany soon to find her forever home. Would you like to enrich your family with the pretty and lovable Isabella and give her a happy life with a close family connection? February 28, 2026: Isabella was able to travel to her foster home. If you are currently looking for a new furry family member and are aware that adoption means not only a lot of joy but also work and great responsibility, then we look forward to your message. We place dogs throughout the country.

28. About Isabella

What life with Isabella looks like

Isabella is a large young adult dog waiting at ProTier e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Isabella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Isabella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ProTier e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Isabella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Isabella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ProTier e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Isabella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Isabella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ProTier e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Isabella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
