Adopt Ishiro

Mixed Breed · Male

Ishiro is a 07/2021 born terrier mix male with a height of about 30 cm. Ishiro is one of those dogs that you just look at once - and immediately feel that there is a story behind his eyes. A story that was not easy. He comes from a very bad home where he was not treated well. Much that a dog should normally experience as a matter of course - security, warmth, loving hands - Ishiro had to do without for too long. And yet: Ishiro has kept his good heart. He is an incredibly kind, friendly terrier mix who seeks the company of people. Ishiro is affectionate, attached, and enjoys petting very much - as if he were absorbing each individual touch, because they are so valuable to him. If you give him time, he shows how much he wants to belong. How much he longs for a place where he doesn't have to function, but can just be a dog. Ishiro does not need a turbulent environment or constant action. What he really needs is a quiet home - people who accept him without pressure, without expectations. People with lots of love, patience and a soft heart, who understand that trust sometimes grows quietly. That a dog who has experienced bad things is not "difficult" - but cautious. And that these cautious souls often become the most loyal companions. We wish Ishiro a home where he finally experiences what it feels like to be safe. A home where he can fall asleep peacefully at night, knowing: Nothing will happen to me here anymore. Here I am safe. Here I am loved. Who will give Ishiro this new life - and show him that after all the hardship something beautiful can also come? Ishiro is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped for adoption. He is currently in a shelter in Villena, Spain. The protection fee for Ishiro is 390 euros. Ishiro is adopted after a pre-check, with a protection agreement and against a protection fee. About Ishiro

What life with Ishiro looks like

Ishiro is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hunde ohne Heimat e.V. in Bedburg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ishiro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ishiro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunde ohne Heimat e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ishiro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ishiro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunde ohne Heimat e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ishiro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ishiro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunde ohne Heimat e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ishiro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
