Adopt Lora

Mixed Breed · Female

Lora is a female Beagle (Mix?) born in 12/2012 with a shoulder height of approximately 40 cm and weighing 15 kg. Lora has already had a busy life behind her. Perhaps she was abandoned at the animal shelter due to her age??? Suddenly, without a home and without her previous human contacts, Lora was visibly overwhelmed by the daily routine at the animal shelter. Fortunately, a private Spanish foster home was found quickly. Here, Lora is now well settled. She enjoys her warm, soft sleeping spot and the attention from her foster care providers immensely. Lora is an absolute sweetheart. She is thrilled about each new day she gets to spend with her new pack. She shows herself to be completely compatible with the existing only dog and the cat. The previous owners of Lora complained that she would pee inside the apartment. The foster home says this doesn't happen because Lora reliably lets them know when she needs to go outside. Lora loves walking together with her people and still shows herself to be quite fit. For Lora, we wish a quiet, loving home with people who have plenty of time and want to give this charming old lady a golden retirement. Having her own garden would certainly be advantageous for her urgent potty breaks. If you can give Lora the attention a senior dog needs, there's no doubt you will have a loyal and grateful companion by your side. Lora is vaccinated and microchipped. Before Lora leaves the shelter, a blood test will be ordered. Lora also has an EU pet passport. About Lora

What life with Lora looks like

Lora is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hunde ohne Heimat e.V. in Bedburg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunde ohne Heimat e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunde ohne Heimat e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunde ohne Heimat e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
