Ivy – In Foster – South East

English Bulldog · Female

Please join us in welcoming Ivy to the Geordie Bullies family! Sadly, Ivy is yet another little girl who has found herself wandering the streets alone in the miserable autumn weather. Ivy was rescued by a member of the public after being clipped by a car, which hit her back end before driving off and leaving her behind. It's heartbreaking to think of a dog being left alone and vulnerable after something like this. Thankfully, an incredibly kind person witnessed what happened and stepped in to get Ivy to safety. It was clear from her condition that this poor girl had likely been neglected for some time. Once Ivy arrived at the local kennels, she was examined by the vets, who confirmed that, thankfully, the collision hadn't caused any serious injuries. She was given pain relief to ensure she was comfortable and didn't suffer any unnecessary discomfort. As is so often the case with stray dogs, Ivy's microchip details were not up to date, and sadly, nobody came forward to claim her. Another little girl left with an uncertain future, through no fault of her own. Ivy has clearly been through a lot, and her little body is showing the signs of neglect. She's underweight, has sore, dry skin, overgrown nails, cherry eye and signs of dry eye. As with all our dogs, Ivy will be visiting the vets this week for a full health check so we can get a clearer picture of her needs and make sure she receives all the care and treatment she requires. Over the weekend, Ivy was collected by Vicky and her partner and made her way to the South East, where she has joined GBSR boy Stanley and his fur brother, Nacho! Ivy is settling into foster life beautifully and is already showing us glimpses of her sweet, loving personality. She's still feeling a little unsure around Stanley and Nacho, but that's completely understandable after everything she's been through. We'll give her all the time, space and reassurance she needs to decompress and settle into her new surroundings. Hopefully, with time and patience, friendships will begin to blossom! A huge thank you to Vicky and her partner for opening their home and hearts to Ivy when she needed it most. We hope you enjoy your very first foster journey with us, and thank you for being part of Ivy's new beginning! Welcome to the Geordie Bullies family, beautiful Ivy. Your past may have been filled with uncertainty, but your future will be different. No more wandering the streets alone, no more being left behind. From now on, we promise to do everything we can to make sure you're warm, safe, loved and cared for. You deserve nothing less, sweet girl. A little note about Ivy's adoption status: Ivy has only just arrived in foster and is not yet available for adoption. Applications are not open at this time, so please don't submit an application for her just yet. We'll share Ivy's adoption poster once she has completed her assessment period. For now, please join us in giving this beautiful girl the warm welcome she deserves! About Ivy – In Foster – South East

What life with Ivy – In Foster – South East looks like

Ivy – In Foster – South East is an extra-large adult english bulldog dog waiting at Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ivy – In Foster – South East, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ivy – In Foster – South East?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ivy – In Foster – South East on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ivy – In Foster – South East if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Ivy – In Foster – South East already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ivy – In Foster – South East isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ivy – In Foster – South East and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
