Adopt Izzi

Female · Puppy · 7 months

Izzi is only 6 months old. Izzi came to Paluch neglected, underweight, with hair loss all over her body. Although the first weeks of her life were not kind, she remained nice, trusting and very open to the world. She has already had an unsuccessful adoption, after which she returned to the animal shelter after 3 days. What did she do wrong? She was just a puppy. As a puppy should, Izzi is now most interested in playing, mischief and chewing everything she can find within reach of her small teeth. She is curious, energetic and ready to explore the world - exactly how a dog her age should behave. However, this is the worst time for such a young dog to be in the animal shelter. She is currently going through one of the most important developmental periods, when she learns social relationships - both with people and other dogs. That is why we really want her to find a home as soon as possible, where she can safely grow up. Female dog has a beautiful, jet-black coat. Although nature, painting her in black paint, obviously held Izzi by all four paws - hence her characteristic white socks. We are looking for a home ready to raise a puppy - patient, aware and prepared for the fact that a young dog learns the world through trial and error. No other pets. Due to Izzi's puppyhood, she will not be spayed at the animal shelter, so the future caregiver must be ready to take on this responsibility when the female dog reaches the appropriate age. Also keep in mind that she is still in an intense growth phase - how big she will be we don't know, but she may even double her current size. And finally, one small dream: that Izzi's life will finally be a bit easier - light, safe and full of dog adventures that should happen to every puppy. To jednak najgorszy moment, by tak młody pies przebywał w schronisku. About Izzi

What life with Izzi looks like

Izzi is a small puppy/kitten dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Izzi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Izzi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Izzi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Izzi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Izzi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Izzi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Izzi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
