Jaala

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Hometown: Romania Breed: mixed breed Gender: female, neutered Color: black-white Shoulder height: approx. 53 cmDate of birth: approx. November 2024Location: 22145 Hamburg Jaala is approximately 1 year old and was born in Romania at the end of 2024. She is a lively, active female dog who is always up for fun. She is smart and learns very quickly. Initial basic obedience is already present, and it would be great if this could be strengthened through a visit to dog training classes. Jaala passionately and joyfully plays with the family dog from her foster home. She loves to run full speed through the garden, and Jaala wishes to have an enclosed garden in her forever home where she can freely express her need for exercise. Jaala wants to spend a lot of time in the vicinity of her/his people, and she is initially reserved with strangers, wanting to get to know them slowly. The ride in public transportation makes Jaala nervous, but she travels comfortably and willingly in her dog crate in the car. Children living in the household should be at least 12 years old. Anyone who has the time and desire to offer an active, lively young dog a forever home should definitely meet Jaala. Contact: Birgit Email: Our dogs are vaccinated (rabies and 2x core vaccination), microchipped, and tested for common Mediterranean diseases: Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis, leishmaniasis, rickettsiae, filariasis, hepatozoonosis, anaplasmosis. Testing for these diseases is provided at our expense (we cover the laboratory fees).

About Jaala

What life with Jaala looks like

Jaala is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. in Oberwies.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jaala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jaala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jaala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jaala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jaala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jaala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Lebenswert e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jaala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
