Adopt The Goats

Male · Senior · 11 years

Who doesn't love a goat? They are cheeky, inquisitive and rebellious! We have 15 goats in our sanctuary, some were pets and their owners had to give them up, others were saved from the horrors of going to a slaughter house.Bertie here was rescued when he was only three months old. His owner was no longer able to cope and had allowed him to become very neglected. Bertie and his mother were carried out from their dirty shelter through a quagmire of mud and animal excrement. Malnourished and riddled with parasites he was rehabilitated at Willows and he is now 11 years old. He lives very happily with all his friends (his mum passed away at the grand age of 17 a few years ago) and he just loves playing on the special goat platform!Goats are very intelligent and they just love to play and if you choose to be their sponsor, you'll never be short of friend!

About The Goats

What life with The Goats looks like

The Goats is a senior animal waiting at Willows Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows The Goats far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting The Goats, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about The Goats?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Willows Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw The Goats on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt The Goats if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Willows Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is The Goats already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if The Goats isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Willows Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know The Goats and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
