Jack

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Basic vaccination + rabies—Jack is searching for great happiness. I’m Jack—a lovable, young male dog (2 years old, microchipped, vaccinated, and neutered). I currently weigh 21 kg and long for nothing more than my very own family! Inside the house, I show my best side: I’m calm, well-behaved, house-trained, and delighted by any affection you give me. In the garden, I love finding a shady spot and enjoying the peace and quiet. On walks, I already walk nicely on the leash and reliably come back when my mom or dad calls me! However, I’m not yet allowed to go off-leash! I’ve also mastered the “sit” command—am I not a clever little guy? What I find absolutely fascinating are rabbits and wild animals! I think that’s exactly what my mom means when she says I have a strong hunting instinct! At first, I tend to approach strangers with caution and reserve—I’m still quite unsure around them! But given enough time, I’ll gradually gain trust. I think I even have a second name—“sweetheart”! At least that’s what I often hear from mom and dad! Who’d like to explore the big wide world with me? Would you let me hop into your home? Either way, I’m ready for anything and am eagerly waiting for you in 8443 Gleinstätten! See you soon, your Jack. Submit an inquiry for Jack.

About Jack

What life with Jack looks like

Jack is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ankerhunde e.V. in Novi Grad.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇦Adopting from Bosnia and Herzegovina

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jack, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jack?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ankerhunde e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jack on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jack if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ankerhunde e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jack already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jack isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ankerhunde e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jack and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
