Finchen

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Vaccination and rabies Finchen seeks her forever home Finchen is a female dog, approximately 3 years old (45 cm, 14 kg), and is waiting on our anchor dog ranch in Bosnia. She is cautious, sensitive, and needs people with hearts, patience, and experience in handling insecure dogs. Finchen is not a classic fearful dog, more insecure and cautious, but she needs time to build trust. Cats interest her not at all, but children should not be in her new home – too much chaos stresses her. A secure fenced yard is a must, as Finchen is house-trained and prefers to do her business outside in a safe area. Walking is currently still too much for her, but she makes small, brave progress every day on her foster home. An independent only-dog home would be her great joy. Who will gift this special soul a loving home or foster home and show her how beautiful life can be? Size: approx. 45 cm Weight: approx. 14 kg Age:

About Finchen

What life with Finchen looks like

Finchen is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ankerhunde e.V. in Novi Grad.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇦Adopting from Bosnia and Herzegovina

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Finchen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Finchen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ankerhunde e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Finchen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Finchen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ankerhunde e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Finchen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Finchen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ankerhunde e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Finchen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
