Jamie

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

Jamie is a small, curious puppy who shows how much joy he has inside him as soon as he feels safe. In contact with other dogs, he behaves like a typical puppy: he plays, dashes around, explores his surroundings, and orients himself to his fellow dogs. Since his rescue, Jamie has already made significant progress. Now, Jamie needs above all one thing: a home of his own, where he can grow up protected and finally be a carefree puppy. Jamie is currently about 4.5 months old and weighs around 7 kg. For such a young dog, his start in life was unfortunately anything but easy. He was rescued together with his brother and another puppy from the public shelter. His mother could not be rescued in time and was killed there. Jamie had to cope with this much too early without his mother. The shelter is not a suitable place for a puppy like Jamie. The many impressions and lack of rest are overwhelming him. He is still shy and reserved with people. Everything that is new can initially make him afraid. At the same time, he has already developed positively since his rescue and is becoming increasingly confident - especially when being with other dogs. Jamie gets along well with his fellow dogs. Here, he naturally shows his typical puppy nature: he plays, runs around, and is curious. Cats have not been tested so far. Therefore, we wish for Jamie that he can leave the shelter as soon as possible. He needs people who give him security and orientation and understand that trust does not develop overnight. In a quiet home, he can arrive and learn at his own pace that new situations can be safe and positive. The ABC of dogs is still ahead of him: house training, leash, car travel, everyday noises, staying alone, and much more. A positively working dog school would be a valuable support. With loving, patient, and clear guidance, Jamie can grow into a secure and happy family dog. Jamie is still very young and has hardly had the opportunity to get to know the world outside the shelter. It is all the more important that he now gets the chance to have his own family and there to catch up on everything that belongs to a happy dog life. Whoever accompanies Jamie with patience and empathy may experience how the cautious little puppy becomes a curious, playful, and lively young dog. Jamie should leave the shelter as soon as possible and travel to a loving family so that he does not become a fearful dog. A foster home would also help him a lot. Jamie travels with a microchip, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-free with his valid EU pet passport to his new home. Due to his young age, he is not yet neutered. After a positive preliminary check, he can be placed for a deposit. Many thanks, Johanna G.! You gave Jamie his name! Status: 25.09.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Johanna G.! Du hast Jamie seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 25.09.2026

About Jamie

What life with Jamie looks like

Jamie is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jamie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jamie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jamie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jamie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jamie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jamie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jamie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
