Jancsi

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Jancsi and Juliska came into our care with the help of the Füzesabonyi animal welfare foundation. The two mixed breed dogs are still very young, born in March 2022. Their short lives cannot be called fairy-tale like, but their kind, straightforward natures may soon bring them a cozy home, of course without an evil witch. They would like to move together, as they like each other, but it would not be a problem if they found their new families separately. We are very much looking forward to their dream owner, who will give them a soft little place and love, since neither of them has ever had that. Jancsi is quickly able to adapt and approach other dogs in a friendly manner. Anyone who likes the look of a basset hound should hurry to meet this handsome guy. Jancsi, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and with a negative heartworm test, is looking for a permanent family.

About Jancsi

What life with Jancsi looks like

Jancsi is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jancsi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jancsi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jancsi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jancsi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jancsi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jancsi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jancsi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
