Jarah

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Jarah was found during a neutering campaign in the Gorj district, exhausted but deeply relieved when help arrived. The young female dog had seven puppies with her and was desperately seeking protection. Our animal welfare volunteers immediately took the little family in. Welcome to the ViN family, dear Jarah! From now on, things can only get better for you! Today, Jarah lives with her puppies at Raluca's from Ferbivet in Herasti. There, everyone is lovingly cared for. Jarah herself has a severely injured eye that will need to be removed. Despite everything she must have experienced, the gentle dog is friendly, soft-natured, and affectionate. She devotedly looks after her puppies and, after all her hardships, deserves a lovely home or a caring foster placement where she will be loved and can finally rest. For Jarah, we hope for people who will give this delicate soul a warm, sheltered life: a place where she no longer has to fight, but can simply be a dog. As soon as her seven little puppies are ready to start life without her, she too may finally hope for a life of security and plenty of love! Jarah is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive pre-adoption check. General note about our animals: Our dogs in Romania are visited regularly so that we can reassess their behavior and development again and again. These personal impressions help us greatly in conveying as accurate a picture as possible of each individual dog. However, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment – with new people, new routines, and new impressions – may show a different side of itself. This is completely normal and part of any process of change. Many dogs even open up more quickly at home and show sides of themselves that were not visible at the shelter at all. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but they are not a guarantee of any particular behavior in a new environment. They are meant to provide guidance and show how the dog presents itself at the shelter – and what potential lies within it. We are convinced that with patience, understanding, and a loving environment, every dog can find its way and continue to develop positively.

About Jarah

What life with Jarah looks like

Jarah is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jarah, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jarah?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jarah on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jarah if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Jarah already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jarah isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jarah and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
