Jaromir

Male · Adult · 8 years

Jaromir can be met at our Ochota branch at ul. Grójeckiej 79. Jaromir's favorite place is knees. As soon as he sees a person, all he wants is petting and attention. He is 7 years old, but when it's time to play, he can run around like a crazy kitten. A key element of his play is proper ending and calming down. The life of Jaromir before coming to the animal shelter was not easy. He arrived at us frightened and stressed, with many wounds from rat bites. We do not know if Jaromir ever lived with a human. Today, he reacts very positively to human company, although he is still learning to live with humans. When he is very emotional and wants to play, he sometimes approaches people, for example by grabbing their legs. With the introduction of appropriate, healthy habits, this problem should disappear over time. It would be best if the kitten was an only child, as he does not tolerate the company of other cats. Before visiting, familiarize yourself with the adoption procedure:

About Jaromir

What life with Jaromir looks like

Jaromir is a small adult cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: History of trauma, needs behavioral training for play biting, prefers to be only cat

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jaromir, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jaromir?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jaromir on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jaromir if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jaromir already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jaromir isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jaromir and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
