Adopt Jascha

Labrador Retriever · Female · Adult · 8 years

Jascha is a quiet, gentle observer. At first, she meets people with caution, but never with aggression or panic. She simply needs time to build trust. With patience, calmness, and a gentle approach, she opens up step by step and shows her loyal, affectionate side. One can sense that she wants to belong – in her own quiet, unique way. With other dogs, whether large or small, Jascha is compatible. In her current environment, she is social and unobtrusive. Currently, Jascha is unfortunately overweight. In her new home or foster home, therefore, working gently and patiently on her weight should be done. Regular exercise and a suitable daily routine will certainly help her. The animal shelter has shaped Jascha. She has no life in a home, no walks as a matter of course, and no people who are only there for her. But through her brother Helli, we know what potential lies within her when she finally gets security, time, and the opportunity to settle in her own environment. For Jascha, we wish for a quiet home in the countryside – ideally with a securely fenced garden and plenty of places to retreat. A home without much hustle and bustle, but with people who can give her the time she needs and show her that trust can grow.

About Jascha

What life with Jascha looks like

Jascha is a large adult labrador retriever dog waiting at Arme Hundeseelen in Năsăud.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jascha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jascha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arme Hundeseelen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jascha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jascha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arme Hundeseelen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jascha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jascha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arme Hundeseelen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jascha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
