Jaskier

Mixed Breed · Male

💜Jaskier – a small, shy dog is waiting for a home 💜 When he arrived at the animal shelter, his whole world collapsed... He was terrified, didn't trust people and tried to scare everyone with his teeth. Today he is a little braver: he goes on walks, but every step outside the crate is still a challenge for him. Fear and uncertainty still accompany him, so he spends most of the day in his crate, in a place that gives him a sense of security... This is not a dog who will run into the arms of a new caregiver. Jaskier doesn't seek constant contact or petting, he needs peace, patience and a person who will accept him as he is. At the animal shelter he lives alone in a crate and would be happiest in a home without small children. Jaskier deserves someone special - a person who will give him time, won't force him to get close, and will let him discover on his own that a person can be someone good. This is a dog for someone who understands that love does not always mean hugging, but above all patience, understanding and a sense of safety. Born: 2017 Vaccinated, microchipped, neutered.

Ur. 2017 Zaszczepiony, zaczipowany, wykastrowany. About Jaskier

What life with Jaskier looks like

Jaskier is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Radom in Radom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jaskier, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jaskier?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Radom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jaskier on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jaskier if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Radom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jaskier already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jaskier isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Radom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jaskier and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
