Jaspis's story is heartbreaking and highlights the highest level of shelter invisibility. This adorable, mature dog is about 9 years old (born around 2017) and has spent his entire life in a shelter. He came under our care as a tiny, several-week-old puppy along with his five siblings. He was completely wild then, and the lack of proper socialization and contact with humans in those most important first months of life has caused him to carry deep fear and distrust to this day. Instead of growing up in the warmth of a home, learning about the world on safe walks, and falling asleep on a soft couch, Jaspis grew up behind shelter cages. For 9 years, he watched the world from a distance, seeing his fellow shelter companions pack their bags and leave for new homes while he himself was left behind... forgotten by everyone. Despite such a huge tragedy, Jaspis is an incredibly gentle dog. He has not a grain of aggression or anger - he is just extremely shy, withdrawn, cautious and attentive. What kind of home and person are we looking for Jaspis? Angelic patience and no pressure: We are looking for a forgiving caregiver who will give him time and space. Jaspis must slowly, at his own pace, learn about home daily life and the touch of a human hand that does not hurt. Support of a canine resident: This is an extremely important point! Jaspis gets along well with other dogs. It is in the company of other dogs that he feels most confident, they give him support, help him overcome loneliness and show him that a human can bring something good. A home with another stable dog would be the perfect therapy for him. A quiet house with a garden: Jaspis, due to his innate vigilance and caution, is perfect as a vigilant guard who from a safe fence will warn strangers. We are looking for him a home with a well-secured yard in a quiet area. Jaspis has been waiting for 9 years - it's 9 years too long. In the depths of his wounded, dog's heart, a small spark of hope still glows, that somewhere out there is a person who is not looking for a "perfect dog right now", but who wants to save a being hurt by fate. Give Jaspis a safe haven for the autumn of his life and show him that the world can be beautiful!

Historia Jaspisa rozdziera serce i pokazuje najwyższy wymiar schroniskowej niewidzialności. Ten uroczy, dojrzały piesek ma około 9 lat (ur. ok. 2017 r.) i całe swoje życie spędził w schronisku. Trafił pod naszą opiekę jako maleńki, kilkutygodniowy szczeniak wraz z pięciorgiem swojego rodzeństwa. Był wtedy zupełnie dziki, a brak prawidłowej socjalizacji i kontaktu z człowiekiem w tych najważniejszych, pierwszych miesiącach życia sprawił, że do dziś nosi w sobie głęboki lęk oraz nieufność. Zamiast dorastać w cieple domowego ogniska, uczyć się świata na bezpiecznych spacerach i zasypiać na miękkiej kanapie, Jaspis dorastał za kratami schroniskowego boksu. Przez 9 lat obserwował świat z dystansu, patrząc, jak jego kolejni schroniskowi towarzysze pakują walizki i odchodzą do nowych domów, podczas gdy on sam wciąż zostawał z tyłu... zapomniany przez wszystkich. Mimo tak ogromnego dramatu, Jaspis jest psem niesamowicie łagodnym. Nie ma w nim ani grama agresji czy złości – jest po prostu ogromnie nieśmiały, wycofany, ostrożny i uważny.
