Jazzy

Border Collie Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 4 years

Jazzy is a super lovable girl who will truly make the perfect addition for the right people! As is characteristic of her breed, she loves to use her brain and will appreciate being kept busy with games and other forms of mental stimulation. Jazzy loves being around her people and does not like to be left on her own, and she can communicate this to us by being vocal. She has shown some nervousness when placed in new situations, but she soon relaxes and lets herself have a sniff around, showing a lot of curiosity in her environments. Jazzy has really enjoyed being groomed and responds well to handling generally, often leading in for fuss, although she did show some nervous behaviours when being restrained for her vet checks. She can be a little picky with her treats, but provided you have the ones she really likes, she'll take them right out of your hand! Jazzy has shown some interest in toys, but has lost interest soonafter and prefers instead to be with her people or explore her environment. She seems to cope very well being around cars and has got into the car unassisted with some encouragement, so she'll be up for joining you on any adventures! Meet Jazzy, a shy but sweet Collie who found herself in our care due to no fault of her own. Jazzy can live with primary school aged children, as long as they are mindful of her boundaries. Whilst she'd love to have doggy friends out and about, Jazzy will need to be the only dog in the home, and any other pets should be introduced prior to adoption as we have no history of her with other animals. Jazzy has been working on her basic training whilst here in the centre which will need to be continued once she is in her home, and whilst nice, a private garden is not essential. We are unsure of how long Jazzy has been left on her own in the past, so any leaving hours should not be introduced right away, and be built up very slowly. She'd be happy having regular visitors in the home as she really likes people, and will be fine living in a home that is open plan.

About Jazzy

What life with Jazzy looks like

Jazzy is an adult border collie dog waiting at Dogs Trust Salisbury in Newton Tony.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jazzy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jazzy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Salisbury handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jazzy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jazzy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Salisbury will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Jazzy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jazzy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Salisbury early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jazzy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
