Jenny

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Jenny originally came from Ukraine, where she had a shelter in a small hut that was built by a young girl to provide protection. She was taken in by animal welfare and has already traveled a long way. Now she can rest with us and start anew. Jenny, the little skeptic. Jenny is a sensitive female dog who not only seeks human proximity and cuddles but demands them. At the same time, she approaches new or unpleasant situations with a certain caution and insecurity. With calmness, understanding, and a bit of patience, she shows more and more how lovable and charming she actually is. Character and nature – Basic temperament: people-oriented, sensitive, cautious – Trust in humans: cautiously open – Contact joy, approach: actively seeking – Social behavior towards dogs: she behaves confidently and is clear in communication – Social behavior towards cats: not tested Behavior and everyday competence – Uncertainties: quick movements, pressing situations – Adaptability to new situations: good – Exploration behavior: she explores everything calmly and with deliberation and is quite at ease outdoors – Activity level: moderate. Jenny enjoys walks and finds them relaxing. Due to her physical constitution, she is probably less suitable for very active people – Leadability: good – Trainability: moderate. She is eager to learn, but the trust in humans must first be there – Hunting motivation: low We wish for Jenny people who understand her sensitive and partly insecure nature and can give her clear and fair guidance. This way, Jenny’s need for security can be satisfied, and her trust in humans can be further built. Jenny is microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, and tested for Mediterranean diseases. She is currently being treated for Babesia. Interested?

DE·Show original

About Jenny

What life with Jenny looks like

Jenny is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at New Graceland - Auffangstation Schweiz in Waltenschwil.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jenny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jenny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. New Graceland - Auffangstation Schweiz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jenny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jenny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — New Graceland - Auffangstation Schweiz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jenny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jenny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with New Graceland - Auffangstation Schweiz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jenny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
