Jerry also arrived after the Civil Guard confiscated him, coming from the same warehouse where the dogs were overcrowded and had minimal positive contact with people. He is only one year old, but his fear is deep. Although he is very afraid of people, he is also curious and observant, but always from a safe corner from which he does not dare to venture out. He is not letting anyone touch him for now; any approach is an enormous effort for him right now. He relies heavily on his brother Willy's bravery to avoid facing the environment alone, but we are making small progress and helping him see that we are not the enemy. He is a dog that needs a lot of time, patience, and understanding. His adoption would have to be progressive, so he can gradually get used to a new place before reaching a completely unknown one. In a calm, stable, and respectful home, he could make much faster progress. The Leishmania analysis is questionable; we will repeat the analysis in a couple of months. He has already been neutered. The 4 Idexx test (Ehrlichia, Anaplasma, and borrelia) is negative. He is heartworm positive, but is already on treatment.
