Jim Knopf

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 7 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Jim Knopf has found a home! His story: Jim Knopf is currently in a foster home in Bistrita, but would like to travel as quickly as possible. His old family found Jim Knopf a bit too wild – they gave him up – he only carried toys out of the house – into the garden or sometimes onto the sidewalk. The mischievous little fellow with round, trusting eyes is 7 months old and weighs between 8 and 9 kilograms. Jim Knopf still doesn't know all the behaviors and needs people with patience and lots of love. Training in a positively working dog training class would certainly help him. Leash walking, house training, and being alone are still foreign words to him. His human should especially forgive him a few mishaps at the beginning, because where there is no rain, there can be no rainbow. Jim Knopf will certainly test boundaries and perhaps even "forget" some things he has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Jim Knopf will definitely be a great lifelong partner. The little man gets along well with people – even with children – but still has a bit of fear of strangers. With other dogs and cats, Jim Knopf is already a small pro, as he gets along well with them. Has Jim Knopf opened your heart? His luggage is already packed. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas, and brings his EU pet passport with him. He can travel after a positive foster home would also make the handsome Jim Knopf very happy! Thank you, Katja, for giving Jim Knopf this beautiful name. As of: 07.03. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

Stand: 07.03.2025

About Jim Knopf

What life with Jim Knopf looks like

Jim Knopf is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jim Knopf, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jim Knopf?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jim Knopf on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jim Knopf if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jim Knopf already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jim Knopf isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jim Knopf and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
