Adopt Jimbob

Mixed Breed · Male

Meet Jim Bob ❤️ Jim Bob is a slightly nervous Cocker Spaniel who has come on so much during his time with us. Every day he’s learning that life can be fun, safe, and full of good things, and it’s been lovely to watch his confidence slowly grow. Jim Bob is looking for a home where there is another dog already living full time, as this is a must for him. Having a calm canine companion really helps him feel secure and continue progressing. He is a sweet-natured boy who takes everything in his stride. He’s learning to walk nicely on the lead and is trying his very best every single day. Jim Bob is looking for a home with children aged 12+ and, with sensible introductions, he could learn to live with cats. He’s a lovely boy who just needs a patient, understanding home to help him continue blossoming 🐾

About Jimbob

What life with Jimbob looks like

Jimbob is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Jimbob, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jimbob?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jimbob on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jimbob if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jimbob already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jimbob isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jimbob and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
