JM

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 4 years

Get ready to meet Glenn, JM, Koen and Jimmy! When a staff member was about to leave for the refugio one morning, a transport crate was standing outside her gate with these four gentlemen inside. There was also an envelope containing €40 and a note saying that they could no longer be cared for and that she should find them a good home. The first few days they were very scared, but little by little they came out of their shells. They are most likely brothers, because they really seek comfort in each other. Glenn is the most adventurous, followed by Jimmy and Koen. JM is the most timid, but he too is already coming over to ask for cuddles.

About JM

What life with JM looks like

JM is an adult european shorthair cat waiting at ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) in Spain.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting JM, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about JM?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw JM on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt JM if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is JM already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if JM isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ACE / SHIN (Animal Care Espana) early rather than rehoming privately; they know JM and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
