Adopt Jody

Greyhound · Female · Young · 2 years

Jody little JoJo has now been here a week.JoJo is a 2 yo non racer.Only 26″ttsShe is quite a shy girl but has started to relax and show a bit of character in the last couple of days. Yesterday when I got in she was actually at the door waiting to greet me with the resident pack.JoJo is a bit of a tinker if you leave paper in a greyhound reachable place. She has started to play with toys. She has been 100% clean in the house.JoJo walks nicely on lead (she was a little hesitant initially, but has now realised walks are fun) she has been good with all dogs she’s met big & small. She does have a small prey drive, and wouldn’t be cat friendly. She still hasn’t mastered the stairs so we are carrying her up and down at night although to be honest she is just as happy to sleep in her open crate or in the lounge.JoJo dent mind a crate, and can be left in her crate without issue for a few hours. We also feed her in her crate as can guard a little and has not yet eaten a full meal when we are around. She seems a little nervous to eat all her food when we are in the same room., but if we leave her alone, it’s all gone when we come back.Today she got on the sofa by herself for the first time.I am sure there is a cheeky little monkey just waiting to feel confident to let it out.Really easy girl who just needs a little time and patience to blossom.IN FOSTER HOME AT CAMBERLEY, SURREY.www.norfolkgreyhoundrescue.co.uk07470 931758 Click here for Adoption Details

About Jody

What life with Jody looks like

Jody is a large young adult greyhound dog waiting at Norfolk Greyhound Rescue in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jody, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jody?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Norfolk Greyhound Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jody on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jody if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Norfolk Greyhound Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jody already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jody isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Norfolk Greyhound Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jody and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
