Jole

Female · Kitten · 9 months

This golden, dainty kitten was found by a lady near the trash containers in Cala di Volpe (an area where the super-rich live), where there is a small colony of cats. The kitten suffered from rhinotracheitis when brought to our partner, who lovingly cared for and attended to it. The little one, now named Jole, developed well. However, during the neutering operation, an unexpected incident occurred. Immediately after the anesthesia, the kitten developed pulmonary edema, and she barely survived the procedure. The cause is unknown, possibly triggered by the anesthetic. We are glad that Jole has overcome this. Should another anesthetic procedure be necessary in the future, this risk must be taken into account. Otherwise, Jole is a very adorable kitten, for which we now wish a nice forever home with kind people. If you are interested in the little Jole, we look forward to your message. She will not be adopted as a single cat and only in apartments with a cat-safe netted balcony or secured terrace. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

About Jole

What life with Jole looks like

Jole is a puppy/kitten cat waiting at ProTier e.V. in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jole, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jole?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ProTier e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jole on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jole if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ProTier e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jole already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jole isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ProTier e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jole and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
