Adopt Jolie

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Lilla Jolie is a happy and friendly girl who quickly became friends with the shelter staff. She allowed them from the start to handle the four sibling pairs and felt secure with this. Closeness and petting are appreciated, but Jolie is not intrusive and can calmly go for a walk after a while for her own business. She is a balanced girl who loves bus rides and play with a calm enjoyment of life. The walks became very popular right away, and she felt safe in the immediate area, exploring all the exciting scents and sights. Jolie communicates well with other dogs. She is a popular companion with her soft and friendly manner but wants her friends to be nice and respectful. After having her own sibling pair, Jolie also found comfort for another little sibling, Siria, who arrived relatively recently, abandoned. Jolie has had a great patience with her – setting boundaries and supporting. The two now share a home and are getting along well. On walks, they have met some of the shelter’s adopted cats, and it has been a peaceful coexistence for all parties. For our little witch, Jolie, we now seek the loving forever home where she can be the most important in the world to someone – who offers fun forest walks, a sofa bed, and where she can sleep next to. The home must not be in a city location. Jolie would appreciate if there was a nice dog companion in the home – in the right size. She would also get along with a nice cat. Background: In February’s spayathon (neutering campaign), staff from SaveTheDogs were out in the villages and picked up dogs. In an empty area, they suddenly found five small puppies – mother Jolie with her sibling pairs Gilda, Jimmy, Simba, and Nala. There was neither food nor water available in the area. It’s not a place one imagines five small puppies would have gone to on their own – the likely scenario is that the puppies were dumped as unwanted. It was noticeable that the little family was used to humans, as they were relatively easy to catch. For mother Jolie, it was probably a relief to have help with the litter.

About Jolie

What life with Jolie looks like

Jolie is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundhjälpen in Stockholm.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jolie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jolie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundhjälpen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jolie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jolie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundhjälpen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jolie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jolie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundhjälpen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jolie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
