Jonna

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Core immunizations + rabies. From the dump to happiness? This wonderful Husky-Mix female dog, Jonna, is searching for her forever home. Many thanks to kind godmother Miriam, whose story deeply moves us: Together with her first few-day-old puppies, she was found on a dump site. Without protection, without safety, and without knowing if she and her babies would survive the next few days. Thankfully, the little family was rescued in time and now lives on our Anchor Hound Ranch in Bosnia. There, the loving, approximately 4-year-old mother dog carefully cares for her puppies and shows every day what a wonderful female dog she is. She is incredibly people-oriented, friendly, affectionate, and enjoys every bit of attention. Despite everything she has experienced, she has kept her big heart. Soon, her babies will be old enough to find their own families. Then, this wonderful mother should finally begin a new chapter. She has so much deserved not to spend her life in Bosnia, but to arrive in a loving home where she will finally be taken care of. Neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, she then starts her big journey to happiness. Who would like to take on a one-time sponsorship for her so she can be made travel-ready?

About Jonna

What life with Jonna looks like

Jonna is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ankerhunde e.V. in Novi Grad.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇦Adopting from Bosnia and Herzegovina

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jonna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jonna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ankerhunde e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jonna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jonna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ankerhunde e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jonna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jonna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ankerhunde e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jonna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
