Adopt Jonny

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

animal rescuer: Vania Tzoneva born: May 2022 gender: male location: Bulgaria neutered: yes FIV test: negative FeLV test: negative Disabilities: none Compatible with: Children: unknown Cats: yes Dogs: unknown Requirements: NO single housing only suitable for apartment living, NO outdoor access Balcony or terrace desired (if available, the safety is required) Due to a notice from a colleague of Vania's husband, our animal rescuer became aware of Jonny. The small tomcat lived near a restaurant and was often there. Initially, he was tolerated, but over time some guests felt disturbed by him - especially because he was curious and sometimes jumped on the tables. The owner did not like this at all, so it was quickly clear that Jonny could not stay there. Vania took the little guy in. In May 2024, due to a FORL infection, Jonny had a dental procedure performed. All teeth except the four canine teeth (Canini) were removed. Jonny is a kind tomcat whose heart is completely devoted to his fellow animals. He feels comfortable in the company of other cats. With humans, Jonny is currently still a concern. His shyness is deep, and he needs a very long time to build trust. He prefers to remain invisible and rather observes the events from a safe hiding place or at a great distance. Jonny is a tomcat who has not yet been able to open up to people. However, even though he is currently very withdrawn, there is a lovable core inside him that simply needs more time and the right environment to become braver eventually. For Jonny, we are looking for a quiet home with patient cat lovers. He needs people who understand the language of cautious souls and can also appreciate the smallest milestones. One or more social fellow animals are essential for Jonny, as he relies on them and they give him the necessary security. Jonny is a true heart's desire for people who want to give an "invisible" tomcat the chance for a secure life.

About Jonny

What life with Jonny looks like

Jonny is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jonny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jonny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jonny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jonny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jonny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jonny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jonny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
