adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Our Jonte with his uniquely spotted and fluffed fur is a beautiful dog who immediately catches the eye. His soft fur and special color accents make him a real looker, but behind his outward appearance lies a moving story. He was found injured by the roadside, fortunately, the examinations revealed that it was nothing serious, and after a few days of pain medication, he was feeling much better. Character-wise, Jonte shows as a friendly dog who, however, needs some time to build trust. It's likely that he hasn't only had good experiences in the past. In a family of his own, with patience and love, he will surely blossom. He gets along well with other dogs, but we cannot make any statements about his compatibility with cats. As Jonte carries some traits of a herding dog within him, he might also bring some typical characteristics of this breed. Herding dogs are independent, loyal, and watchful companions who form a close bond with their family. At the same time, they like to make their own decisions, which makes a confident, experienced handling and a more rural home with plenty of space for him particularly suitable. At seven years old, Jonte is no longer a young dog, but still not a senior. He brings the calmness of adulthood with him and enough energy to actively participate in family life. People who meet him with patience, consistency, and care will find a loyal and reliable friend in him. Jonte travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport. Who will give the handsome Jonte a warm dog bed and the chance to finally experience security? A big thank you goes to Roxy H., you not only gave Jonte a name but also the chance at a new life and a family of his own! As of: 19.09.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Jonte

What life with Jonte looks like

Jonte is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jonte, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jonte?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jonte on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jonte if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jonte already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jonte isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jonte and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
