adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Joschi has found its people! His story: Zalau, Romania. Rescued by tourists – who would have thought? Joschi probably didn’t. Joschi is about 10 months old and has spent its short life on the streets. He wandered around the city near a large tourist attraction, a statue. He moved through the crowd, begging for food. A tourist picked up the little guy and took him to the vet. Joschi had fleas and was, of course, a bit neglected. The nice lady let Joschi be treated by the vet and cared for, but of course, couldn’t take care of or bring Joschi home. Through a call for help to our team, he ultimately ended up in his current shelter. Joschi’s journey to here was exciting and spectacular, so it’s really time for a life of safety! Since the little guy was safe, he charmed everyone within seconds with his open and cheerful nature. The young lad plays a lot and loves every toy, and is excited about everything he experiences. He is simply a typical young kitten. Of course, Joschi also gets along well with the other cats. He is extremely happy about the contact with them and the high number of plush paws in his shelter doesn’t bother him at all. We are more than committed to ensuring that Joschi is not kept as a single cat in the future, but that he can share his time with a similarly aged friend or a friend. Of course, he will happily pack someone with him in his suitcase to you if you don’t already have a kitten waiting for Joschi. We also only want to place him as a pure indoor cat. Of course, Joschi will be microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, and treated for fleas during his travel arrangements, like all our cats and tomcats. He of course also has an EU pet passport and is looking forward to his trip to happiness – are you his travel destination? Thank you Colles E., you gave Joschi its sweet name! Status: 19.04.

Danke Colles E., du hast Joschi seinen süßen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 19.04.2024

About Joschi

What life with Joschi looks like

Joschi is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Joschi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Joschi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Joschi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Joschi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Joschi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Joschi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Joschi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
