Joy, m, nicht kastriert, geb. 11-2016

Rhodesian Ridgeback · Male

Joy is a purebred Thai Ridgeback male dog. After some detours, the proud fellow ended up with us. It’s only to say: he would have been euthanized otherwise. At first, Joy showed his worst side to us and we could only handle him with muzzles. But the imposing male dog quickly changed and now runs freely in the yard, showing himself to be friendly, more or less indifferent, with people and compatible with most dogs. With unneutered male dogs, it can be tricky, but Joy is quite confident in himself. He reacts directly and quickly to silly advances, but he doesn’t seek out fights. Thai Ridgebacks are absolutely not beginner dogs. The very primitive breed was used in Thailand as companions and guards for the wagons. They are quick, springy, incorruptible, protective, and highly motivated to hunt. For a male dog of about labradorgauge, we are looking for very experienced dog owners who are familiar with the quirks of this breed. This animal must be handled with a muzzle.

DE·Show original

Can I adopt Joy, m, nicht kastriert, geb. 11-2016 if I live in another country?

What happens if Joy, m, nicht kastriert, geb. 11-2016 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
