Joy

Female · Adult · 4 years

Joy is a beautiful, very young female dog, whose fate has never been easy. She was abandoned by her first caregiver - tied to the gate of an animal shelter at night. She found a home quickly, but this one could not cope with caring for the energetic and strong sun with a TTB mix, and so the female dog returned to where she started, back to the shelter's cages. Joy is a female dog with great training potential, smart, eager to learn, cooperative with people, gentle and loving. She needs rather an experienced caregiver, focused on working on her self-confidence and relationships with other dogs, supportive and patient. Collaboration with a behaviorist is recommended, as the female dog has already gone through too much. Joy is looking for a home with a garden in a quiet area, without other animals and without children. We will update the description.

PL·Show original

Joy to sunia z ogromnym potencjałem szkoleniowym, mądra, chętna do nauki, współpracująca z człowiekiem, łagodna i kochająca. Potrzebuje raczej doświadczonego opiekuna, nastawionego na pracę nad jej pewnością siebie i relacjami z innymi psami, wspierającego i cierpliwego. Wskazana będzie współpraca z behawiorystą, ponieważ sunia przeszła już zbyt wiele. Joy szuka domu z ogrodem w spokojnej okolicy, bez innych zwierząt i bez dzieci. Opis będziemy aktualizować. About Joy

What life with Joy looks like

Joy is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires behavioral support and experienced handler due to past trauma

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Joy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Joy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Joy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Joy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Joy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Joy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Joy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
