Jude

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 9 months

Hi, I’m Jude, a 9-month-old Labrador x Deerhound. I didn’t have the best start in life, and when I first arrived at Jerry Green, I found the world a pretty scary place. I was shut down and often didn’t want to leave my kennel because everything felt overwhelming. The team here gave me all the time, patience and reassurance I needed, and little by little I’ve started to realise that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. They tell me I’m really starting to come out of my shell and show more of my personality! These days, I love heading out to the fields for a run, having a good sniff around and exploring everything I can. One of my favourite things in the whole world is soft toys! Somehow, I always seem to find one when I’m out and about, and I love being able to choose my own toy from the toy box. I’m still learning about the world and building my confidence every day, but I’m making great progress. One thing I haven’t quite worked out yet is how big I am! Once we’re friends, I might even try to sit on your lap for a cuddle. Because I can be a little shy around new people, I’ll need a family who is happy to take things at my pace. We’ll start with a few meets at the centre so we can get to know each other and build a bond, followed by some visits to your home so I can become familiar with my new surroundings. Don’t worry though, the team will guide you through the whole process and tell you all about how wonderful I am. A secure garden where I can safely explore and play. Someone who can keep leaving hours low while I settle in. A home within approximately an hour of the centre to support my introductions and any ongoing support I may need. Patient and understanding adopters who are happy to continue building my confidence and helping me navigate the world. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle young dog who is learning to trust, have fun and enjoy life, I might just be the perfect match for you. 🐾❤️

About Jude

What life with Jude looks like

Jude is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Jerry Green Dog Rescue in Lincoln.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jude, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jude?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jerry Green Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jude on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jude if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jerry Green Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jude already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jude isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jerry Green Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jude and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
