Juko

Male · Adult · 8 years

Juko is an extraordinary German Shepherd - intelligent, sensitive and full of energy. It's impossible to pass by him without noticing. He immediately attracts attention with his attentive gaze and willingness to interact. He loves people - he forms a special bond with volunteers, happily cuddles, asks for pats, seeks closeness. But he's not just a cuddlebug! This guy loves movement and adventure. Long walks are his element - with curiosity he explores new places, nose to the ground and tail up. He has a natural sense of joy of discovery. Juko walks well on a leash and can beautifully cooperate with humans. He is smart, absorbs new commands, likes challenges. We work with him on relationships with other dogs. With proper support and patience, a caregiver can make great progress. Juko dreams of a home where he can be himself - a bit of a cuddlebug, a bit of an adventurer, and above all, a faithful companion. Maybe it's you who will show him that the best adventures are still ahead of him?

PL·Show original

Juko to wyjątkowy pies w typie owczarka niemieckiego – inteligentny, czuły i pełen energii. Nie sposób przejść obok niego obojętnie. Od razu zwraca uwagę swoim uważnym spojrzeniem i gotowością do kontaktu. Uwielbia ludzi – z wolontariuszami tworzy wyjątkową więź, chętnie się wtula, prosi o głaski, szuka bliskości. Ale nie jest tylko pieszczochem! Ten chłopak kocha ruch i przygodę.

About Juko

What life with Juko looks like

Juko is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Working on social skills with other dogs, needs patient owner

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Juko, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Juko?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Juko on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Juko if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Juko already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Juko isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Juko and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
