Adopt Juleke

Mixed Breed · Male

Background Juleke came to us because of a behavior problem in his previous home. He could go outside, but only on a small leash. We think this was not enough for him to burn off his energy, which led to frustration and him spraying inside. In an environment with more space and calm, he can probably relax much better. Character Despite his small size, Juleke is a very loving cat. He is affectionate, seeks attention and enjoys company. He likes to lie next to you and even responds when you call him. Juleke is a sensitive cat, so a quiet and stable environment is important for him. Care Juleke is prone to developing bladder stones. This is currently well managed with a special diet. It is therefore important that he continues to receive this diet in his new home. Placement For Juleke we are looking for a home where he can live as the only cat, so he gets all the attention and calm he needs. He needs people who have time for him and can keep him company. Additionally, it is important that after a quiet adjustment period, he can safely go outside into a green environment where he can burn off his energy. In the right home, Juleke will grow into a very loyal and loving companion.

Enkel in België

About Juleke

What life with Juleke looks like

Juleke is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Dierenasiel Sint-Truiden in Sint-Truiden.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Frequently asked

Adopting Juleke, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Juleke?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Sint-Truiden handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Juleke on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Juleke if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Sint-Truiden will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Juleke already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Juleke isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Sint-Truiden early rather than rehoming privately; they know Juleke and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
