Julian

Male · Puppy · 4 months

Julian is a young dog just one year old who has already known a reality that no dog should live. He was rescued from the pound and arrived with immense fear, reflected in his gaze and speaking of everything he had to go through without needing words. We are still working with him so he can learn to walk and trust people. Every small step is a great achievement because Julian needs time to understand that now he is safe. However, when he is in the yard with another female dog, he relaxes, gets excited to run, plays for a while and shows the puppy he should have been from the beginning. Seeing those moments proves that under all that fear, there is a dog eager to enjoy life; he just needs to feel safe to do so. We believe a home with another balanced and sociable dog could help him a lot to gain confidence, as he seems to find great support in his companions. Of course, the most important thing will be a committed family that understands Julian will need time to adapt and is willing to move at his pace without rushing. Do you want to give Julian a chance? ES·Show original

About Julian

What life with Julian looks like

Julian is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at Protectora Malaga in Málaga.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Julian, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Julian?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Malaga handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Julian on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Julian if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Malaga will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Julian already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Julian isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Malaga early rather than rehoming privately; they know Julian and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
