Jumana

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 5 months

Jumana is an exceptionally loving dog girl who, despite her tender age of just five months, has endured more than one can imagine. Found on the street with broken legs, she was completely on her own. It was a very hard start in life, but Jumana has proven what an incredibly brave little fighter she is. Jumana currently lives in a Romanian foster home and is probably experiencing what security means for the first time. Her fractures have been medically treated and she currently still has an implant that needs to be removed. At the moment, the little mouse is still limping a bit, but more and more joy in her eyes is returning from day to day. Now Jumana is ready for the next big step, her very own home with people who want to show her the world. With her current shoulder height of about 40 cm, Jumana is still growing and not only physically an exciting time is ahead. Jumana is just before puberty. This means that she has to learn the entire dog multiplication table from scratch and then sometimes forgets. Whether house training, walking on a leash or staying alone, all this is still completely new to her. In this upcoming phase of orientation and experimentation, she needs people who accompany her through the exciting time with a lot of patience, loving consistency and a bit of humor. Due to her history, Jumana is looking for understanding people who will also support her health in the last phase of her recovery. She needs a gentle training after the implant has been removed to build up her leg step by step without overloading it. An all-ground home would also be desirable. Jumana travels chipped, vaccinated, dewormed and de-loused, together with her EU pet passport. Whether she is already spayed at the time of the trip depends on the age. After a positive preliminary check, she can be placed for a deposit. But a foster home would also be a good option for a fresh start. A special thank you goes to Meison S., who gave the little Jumana her pretty name and thus an identity. Status: 03.10.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Jumana

What life with Jumana looks like

Jumana is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jumana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jumana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jumana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jumana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jumana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jumana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jumana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
