Adopt Juna

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 5 months

Friendly, open, playful, curious Juna came to us at the animal shelter with her sister and brother, all suffering from a severe case of mange. They were found on an uninhabited property without any parent animals. Probably abandoned again. They received daily baths to relieve the itching and became more lively each day. Their fur has already grown back very well and nothing reminds of the days when they were left on their own. Her brother has already found a wonderful home in Greece. Juna and Janice are now looking for a home. Both are very open and friendly towards other dogs. They play and run all day. In between, they take breaks in the sun. They come up to you immediately, then are incredibly cuddly and enjoy the contact. They currently have a back height of 40 cm. Judging by their paws, they will be a bit taller than expected. An adult size of 55-65 cm is very likely. We also suspect some herding dog traits and therefore look for a home where the characteristics of these breeds have been considered. A loving, consistent upbringing with physical and mental stimulation in a rural environment would be the ideal home for Juna. They are all vaccinated, microchipped and have an EU passport. They are checked for Mediterranean diseases according to their age. See information on our homepage. Every dog we rehome makes room for another dog that has to struggle to survive hungry and emaciated.

AUFENTHALTSORT

About Juna

What life with Juna looks like

Juna is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. in Greece.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.

Frequently asked

Adopting Juna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Juna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Juna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Juna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Juna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Juna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Juna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
